Bluebell season

The bluebells are out! There are a few local places worth a visit. It's somethimes difficult to find a composition; there is often a lot of 'clutter' and the light can often be a bit flat.

First early evening outing to a local bluebell copse. For about ten minutes the sun cast some light across the bluebells:

Second trip out was to a well-known local bluebell wood on an overcast day. A road runs through the wood and much of it is on private land. I parked up in a layby and walked about 500 metres back down the road before finding a composition I liked. There was no wide angle photograph to be had from the verge, but there were opportunities with a long lens.

Portrait composition used to highlight the height of the trees above the carpet of bluebells.

My favourite so far:

Although the light was a bit flat, it's a place to return to when the sun is out to try and capture some long shadows across the bluebells.

Low light also means you can be a bit creative, I always do like zoom burst effects. You never quite know what you're going to get!
