July 2014: An evening on the Fleet
In: Architecture, Landscapes
It was the camera club outing, the location was The Fleet between Weymouth and Portland.
The lighting was really flat so I thought I'd try my new ND8 filter with my sigma 10-20mm lens to reduce the amount of light and enable a longer shutter speed.
The Oyster Farm caught my eye, I thought the sign made a simple black and white photograph. The ND8 filter enabled a 1 second exposure at F22, which has created a more interesting sky:

As did the single upright post taken a little afterwards. The ND8 filter allowed a 1.6 second exposure at F22:

Further along the Fleet is the Chesil Beach Visitor Centre, as I arrived there the sun broke from under the low clouds, creating some colourful clouds:

For this photograph the wide angle lens was about two foot from the foreground sculpture, I've also used the HDR function in photoshop CS5 merging two different exposures together:

My favourite photograph of The Chesil Beach Visitor Centre is available to view in the gallery.
All in all a good night on the Fleet.
