April/May 2013: Architecture - Brewery Square

Brewery Square in Dorchester is a significant development on the former Eldridge Pope site. It includes apartments, restaurants, shops, a hotel, spa, theatre and arts centre. The site has been inaccessible for months due to construction works. Parts of the site is now opening, which gives a great opportunity to focus on some architectural photographs.

This is Screen House, with apartments inside.

I like this for it's symmetry and repitition of shapes.

This is a panoramic view towards the square with the "screen on the square on the left" and one of the existing building being retained on the right hand side.

Seven photos stitched in photoshop.

There is also opportunity to take a few 'record photos' of the buildings that are remaining on the site:

One can also start to be a bit more creative. This is a series of photos stitched with deliberate distortion:

There is also some great detail to focus on.

A simple composition focussing on repitition and shapes.

The fountain is now also switched on:

The above photos are the first of many I have. As more of the site opens, there will be further opportunties to take more photos.
