June 2013: Architectural Detail
In: Architecture
Another area of the Brewery Square development in Dorchester is now accessible; it means I don't get told off by the security guard when getting near to the fence to try and take photographs!
I can also get close to this building, known as Screen House:

There are lots of interesting areas of detail within the development in the form of geometric shapes, colour, repetition and symmetry, all which make for some good photograph opportunities.
I originally thought the "woman in the window" was a real person, I had to look twice:

(use of symmetry and repetitive shapes).
I found this interesting, to me it's a series of repetitive geometric shapes, good for black and white. My eyes wander around this photo and eventually rest at the top right.

(Geometric and repetitive shapes).
A portrait composition on the above, retaining the colour:

(Geometric and repetitive shapes).
There is also an interesting brewing vat. There are some interesting elements when viewed close up:

(there is also a shadow, a rare day when the sun was out!)
I also find it interesting that some original features have been retained, such as one of the original letterboxes:

I have plenty more Brewery Square photographs, there are some on a previous blog entry please contact me if you want to see more.
