June 2013: Weymouth Vetaran's Parade...

Weymouth is an ideal location for one of Britain's largest Veteran’s Festivals. The Service of Remembrance is followed by the Veteran's Parade, Vehicle Convoy and Royal British Legion Riders.

I like to have a go at this type of event to see if I can come away with some reasonable photographs. This year I managed to get into a position facing the oncoming parade. The photo below was my first and shows the parade coming straight towards me:

(posted to show my line of sight. Taken at 1/250th second, see the movement in the drumsticks on the left and right).

First came the Vetarans:

Followed by the soldiers:

Then the vehicles:

(all the vehicles came within a couple of feet of me).

Then came The Royal British Legion Riders:

(the one lent itself to a bit of processing).

All the vehicles parked on the beach or the Pavilion area for the public to view them:

A great parade on Weymouth Promenade.
