Minterne Magic...

Minterne Gardens in Dorset is great for an afternoon walk. It has over 1.5 miles of walks and there is an important collection of fine and rare trees. Each season of the year brings its own photographic opportunities, I chose early autumn just as the colours were changing.

Waterfall at .8 second shutter speed to create a milky effect in the water.

The sunlight was low late afternoon, I spotted this tree colour side-lit by the low sun:

Back to the waterfall again, this time 100mm at .6 second. taken potrait.

I quite liked the contrast of the lichen on the bark, again the low sunlight has added to the variation of light across the photo:

This tree stump pattern also caught my eye:

I also quite liked the contrast between the bark, the brown and the green. Processed post-photo.

Minterne Gardens, certainly worth a return visit!
