September 2011 - a coastal walk

The walk between Osmington and Ringstead bay is part of the jurassic coast. It's only about a 3 mile walk there and back, but there are plenty of things to see:

The first walk was really windy, there was blue sky and nice cloud formations:

Along the walk are a couple of world war II lookout posts, with the clouds moving fast, I thought a long exposure (15 seconds) converted to black and white would look good. The tripod had to be as low as possible, the spirit level bubble was still moving in the wind!

The weather was much better on the second walk, it was low tide at Ringstead and the water was very still. This is the view from Ringstead around the coast to White Nothe. The low tide exposed the rocks and the beach forms a line from the bottom left of through the photo to White Nothe.

This was the view looking away from White Nothe. Again the low tide exposed the rocks. The sigma lens at 10mm has provided interesting distortion on the foreground rocks and limpets.
