Street Photography Part Two

After attending a Damien Demolder Street Photography Seminar, I was itching to get my hands on a suitable small, light and portable camera. I want photographs [generally] straight off camera, ready for use with little or no post photo processing. I’ve gone for a Panasonic; at just over 400 grams, it’s ideal for photography on the go. Key features are 4k video (30fps with the ability to pull out a single frame), tiltable lcd screen, use of the screen to select the point of focus and touch screen shutter function to take the photograph.

Street photography has a very broad definition. It could be “anything on the streets” including people and their behaviour in public. But does it have to be candid? Does it have to include people?

The seminars introduced me to the idea of photographing people without them knowing.
