Supermoon Eclipse
In: events, Landscapes
Photographs taken between 3.15am and 4.15am, September 2015. The supermoon coincided with a lunar eclipse, which made it appear red.
I did a bit of online research beforehand, knowing my longest lens wasn't going to get that close, I knew there was going to be an approximate 50% crop. I watched the moon for just over an hour from the garden, cup of tea in hand, camera on tripod with live view and remote sensor. I tried various settings; high ISO, fast (ish) shutter speed, large and small apertures and under exposing, to see what the results would be.
The composition: upper right hand third, I quite liked the idea of alot of black negative space.
