Verne High Angle Battery

Here is a real gem in the Dorset Landscape. I've been to Portland many times but never actually visited this site until I detoured off to view it one day. It such an interesting site I went back again.

The Verne High Angle Battery in Portland, Dorset, is a derelict Victorian gun battery built in 1892. The battery was built as part of Britain's Coastal Defences. The "Ghost Tunnels" are open to the public to explore.

Lots of interesting shapes and textures:

What the site did lend itself to was some black and white photography:

Did I go into the "ghost tunnels"? No.
