June 2014: Weymouth Veterans' Parade
Thousands of people lined Weymouth seafront for the annual Weymouth Veterans' Parade. This year it was the highlight of the "Weymouth at War" weekend.
It was hot! Although a fantastic event, the downside of trying to take photographs is that if you move you've lost nearly all potential to get another spot! I stood in the heat for about an hour in a great location where the parade would come directly towards me before going past my right shoulder.
A great spot until people somehow manage to stand in front of you!
Nevertheless, I managed a few photographs of the parade:
As the parade went on I found myself wedged next to a road bollard! I only had two positions - standing up and crouching down! Crouching down gave a really good viewpoint. These vehicles were going about a foot past me! A bit daunting when you're looking through a lens!
Note to self: another essential item for the rucksack - water!
