Changing light on the coast path

It pays to wait around and watch the light in the landscape; it can change dramatically in a few minutes.
Following on from a previous blog, I visited part of the South West Coast Path on Portland. It was near to sunset, with a near-clear sky and the low sun coming from the right hand side.
On the first photograph, below, the light is illuminating the rocks.

A few minutes later, the light is becoming flatter:

Compare with the below, which was taken a couple of minutes after:

A return visit a couple of weeks later - an overcast evening with no sunshine and very flat lighting.
